After an
extensive search that lasted 77 days from the Titans final game of the 2017 season,
the Athletic Department felt Buysse was the right fit amongst the reported 94
applicants.
“I’m
extremely happy to be here,” Buysse stated in a message he sent out to the
players. “We have a lot of work to do in a very short time frame but I know our
coaching staff is more than willing to accept the challenge.”
Buysse is
the former head coach of South Bend Washington High School, and a former
assistant at Saint Joseph’s College.
The Titans
are coming off a great finish in their 2017 season where they ended the year
defeating the top two seeds in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference
tournament.
Buysse will
be the third head coach for IUSB in its first three years as a program.
