By: Zane Gonzalez @ZaneGonzo36 KOKOMO, Ind. – The Titans (0-3) wrapped up their series with IU Kokomo (3-4) with a doubleheader on Sunday. They dropped game one 2-3 and game two 10-17. Sophomore Andy Ross started the first game for the Titans, giving them a strong outing on the mound, exiting the game with a 2-1 lead. Ross ended up throwing 4 1/3 innings, allowing one run on six hits while striking out two. Ross was relieved by Senior Zane Gonzalez in the fifth inning with a runner on. Gonzalez struck out two batters to end the inning but couldn’t hold off the Cougars in the sixth, allowing two runs and losing the lead. Gonzalez finished with 1 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on two hits, while striking out three and receiving the loss. At the plate the Titans had 5 hits and got some timely knocks from Sophomore’s Demeris Barlow and Jake Wilburn. By: Zane Gonzalez @ZaneGonzo36 KOKOMO, Ind. – The Titans traveled to Kokomo, Indiana to face Indiana University Kokomo (IUK) for their season opener after their original plans of traveling to Pfeiffer University were spoiled by forecasts of rain. The team fell 0-14 in seven innings to the Cougars in the first game of the three-game series. Senior Paul Geha got the opening day nod from first year coach Doug Buysse. Geha threw 3 1/3 innings, allowing nine runs on 11 hits. Geha was relieved by Junior Brett Bashaw who lasted 1 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on four hits. Freshman Cayse Cameron made his collegiate debut out of the pen throwing one inning and not allowing a run. The bats for the Titans were silent as IUK saw a great pitching performance from Renton Poole who threw a no-hitter in the home opener for the first-year program. The Titans will return Sunday afternoon for the final two games of the series at Kokomo Municipal Stadium in a double header. So...

By: Zane Gonzalez @ZaneGonzo36 SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The IU South Bend baseball team looks to build off last season’s success with the addition of a new coaching staff as well as returning some key players for the 2018 season. The Titans finished the 2017 campaign 24-26 (13-14) making a conference tournament appearance for the first time in the programs history. There they beat number one seed Judson University and number two seed Olivet Nazarene University, before being eliminated by the Fighting Saints of the University of Saint Francis. The team achieved many firsts for the program in 2017 by winning their first conference tournament game, beating an NCAA DI program (@ IPFW 4/10), as well as having the first conference player of the year in program history. Despite the successes of last season, the Athletic Department at IUSB decided to bring a new coaching staff in for the 2018 season.
